Elizabeth Sak Barrett, '62

HANOVER, N.H. --- Elizabeth Sak Barrett, 62, of West Swanzey, died of heart
failure on Wednesday, Feb. 14, at Darmouth-Hitchcock in Hanover.
She was born in Bernardston, Mass., Dec. 23, 1939, the daughter of Anthony and Beatrice Sak. She was raised in Vermon, Vt., and attended school in Brattleboro, Vt., and Windham College.
After college she worked for the Brattleboro Reformer as a reporter/photographer.
She was an accomplished watercolorist, a poet and vocalist. She was a member of the United Church of Christ in Keene and sangin the choir for many years. She was also a member of the Keene Chamber Singers, Yankee Harmony and The Sounds of Joy.
She married Gordon Barrett in 1974 and together they ran Barrett Studio of Photography in Keene and now in West Swanzey.
Survivors include her husband; her brother, Roger Sak of Vernon, a niece Kim Flanders of Spofford; three stepchildren; and other nieces, nephews and cousins.
A musical service celebrating her love of music will be held Sunday, Feb. 25, at 2 p.m. at the United Church of Christ in Keene. A reception in the Fellowship hall will follow.
