Robert Joseph Tipple, '62

Scotia ---Robert Joseph Tipple, 69, of Holly Blvd., after a short illness, died at St. Clare's Hospital on Sunday, May 7, 2006.

Robert was born in Schenectady, the son of the late Maurice and Sadie (Lencewiz) Tipple. He was a 1954 graduate of Nott Terrace High School. Bob joined the Air Force in 1954 and as an airman, served in Iceland and was honorably discharged in 1958. After holding various jobs, Bob graduated with a bachelor's degree in business from Windham College in Putney, VT. He worked for the state as an recreational therapist and subsequently graduated from the College of St. Rose in 1978 with a bachelor's degree and in 1979 with a master's degree, both in special education. From 1979 until he retired on June 15, 2003, Bob taught at the LaSalle School in Albany. Bob was of the Catholic faith. He was a member of the American Legion Post 1050 in Clifton Park.

There are no survivors.

Bob requested that he be creamated and interred in the Gerald B.H. Solomon National Cemetery. Services with full military honors will be held at the cemetery on Duell Rd., in Schuylerville at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 12, 2006. Friends are requested to meet at the visitor's center at 1:45 p.m. There wil be no prior calling hours.
